Banff Gondola Ride is a great activity for all ages - there is something for everyone. The gondola is in the Banff National park, about 3 km from the Town of Banff. Free parking is available on site but limited spots. There is a Starbucks and a souvenir shop at the base. Tickets cost for gondola ride is $57 for adults and $27 for kids. Gondola ride is approximately 10 minutes long. At the top, there is a small museum for kids, Northern Lights restaurant, Sky Lounge restaurant, Sulphur Mountain Boardwalk and more. The Gondola is on Sulphur Mountain. There are two terminals. an upper terminal ., this terminal, containing two restaurants, a gift shop, and multiple observation decks. Sulphur Mountain boardwalk is an amazing experience. Gondola is accessible. People with disability can also enjoy this beautiful Mother Nature. This gondola was originally built in September 1958 to July 1959 And rebuilt (upgraded ) – November 1997 to February 1998 Each gondola can take only 4 persons. There are 40 gondolas in this facility. This can accommodate 650 people per hour to get this amazing experience. It took about 8 minutes to go upper terminal by gondola. Distance is 8000 feet. Speed is 10 feet/min. From gondola, you can see beautiful Banff town. It is a cute, little town. And has so much blessings and love from the gorgeous mountains, rivers, water fall, lakes! All about mother nature love.

This is the Full vide right from the beginning of the parking lot to the entire tour. We made sure to book this in advance and online since at times they seemed to sell out quick. We took the first available ride which is the 9:30 AM and as you can see throughout the video, there isn't too many people but all that would change by time I come back down within the next 3 hours or so. Our recommendation is that you book your tickets in advance and go there early to avoid the crowds. We were able to park our car right by the entrance and the lady greeted us to check our tickets and the timing and were allowed to go in. The Banff Gondola is open year round. The eight-minute ride climbs 698 metres (2,292 feet) to the summit ridge where there are restaurants, observation decks, interpretive boardwalks, and hiking trails. can continue along a one-kilometre (0.6-mile) interpretive boardwalk to the Cosmic Ray Station and Sanson’s Peak. Another warm water spring on the side of Sulphur Mountain was discovered by three railway workers in 1883. The Cave and Basin National Historic Site features an artificial tunnel to natural grotto, a replica of the original 1887 bathhouse, restored 1916 swimming pool, as well as interpretive displays, hiking, and snowshoe trails. These hot springs are no longer open for public bathing. There are two Starbucks at this location. One right at the base and one at the top. We tried the latte's at the top and for some reason it didn't come out as good. I would highly recommend that you buy your beverage at the bottom. overall it's an awesome experience!

CANADA Bound - Day 30 finds us riding one of the Banff Gondola trams to the top of Sulfur Mountain where we have a quick vegetarian panini sandwich for lunch and take in the splendor surrounding the town of Banff. On the way down we ride with a happy young couple from Calgary who just got engaged on the tram ride up the mountain. I hope they can forgive me for not including their names. I wrote them down but now nearly 5 months later I just can't find them anywhere. The couple were so sweet to share their story with us and we really enjoyed their loving energy.
-Last May 29th, we went to Banff Gondola to reach top of Sulphur Mountain and see the best 360 degree views of the Canadian rockies. It's an 8 minute ride to reach the summit at (7,486 feet) . You can also hike the mountain for about 3-5hours (10km). Sobrang ganda , prang wallpaper yung nakikita ko everywhere ^_^ Some History: -Park meteorologist Norman Sanson first climbed the Sulphur mountain on snowshoes in 1896 in order to record weather observations for the Banff area. -Banff National Park is Canada's oldest national park, established in 1885 as Rocky Mountains Park, Banff Gondola was built in 1959.
